Caterpillas Under 5's is based within the Tidworth Leisure Centre and was judged outstanding by Ofsted in May 2016. The setting which is located in large, light, open plan rooms offers nurturing childcare and exciting learning opportunities for children aged 7months -5 years and allows children from 2-5 years to move freely throughout the setting including it's large purposely designed outside area that includes Communication Friendly Spaces, planting areas, mark-making opportunities, a mud kitchen and much more. In September 2017 Caterpillas added a portacabin classroom which caters for our youngest children aged 7-24 months.
Caterpillas is currently registered to take up to 70 children per session and has six key-groups which all have their own home-area within the setting. Each key-group has between two and three key-workers that work closely with children and families to build strong relationships and attachments; this means that there will always be someone on the premises that knows your child and who your child feels comfortable with. Caterpillas strongly believes that the best resource we can provide your children with is our staff so we always ensure that we are working above good practice ratios and of our 17 key-workers 15 are qualified to level 2 & 3 or above. The Manager holds a Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies and the Deputy Manager holds a level 5 qualification in Early Years Care and Education.

At Caterpillas our setting aims to:-
• Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
• Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
• Add to the life and well-being of the local community; and
• Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
FEES AND FUNDING
All settings registered with Ofsted are eligible to accept Universal Entitlement funding. This is a universal benefit for every child from the term after its third birthday. Every child is entitled to up to 15 hours free early years education for up to 38 weeks of the year. Parents do not have to apply for this grant, the pre-school or nursery that your child is registered with will ensure that s/he receives their entitlement.
Since September 2017 in households where both parents work 16 hours or more the family can apply for the extended entitlement which gives parents up to 30 hours free childcare for 3 & 4 year olds.

Two Year Olds Funding
Following reports emphasising the importance of early intervention, the Government introduced an initiative to fund places for vulnerable two year olds. This enabled those with an identified need to access up to 10 hours of free entitlement. TNB Early Years and Play strongly supports this initiative, with four settings currently able to accept children in the programme. Help and support in applying for Two Year Funding can be sought via the health visitor, or local children’s centre.
Caterpillas is committed to ensuring that all children with SEND are given the same opportunities as everyone else. Click here to see Wiltshire Council's Local Offer
