"Children are well cared for in an extremely well resourced, challenging and exciting environment” - Ofsted 2013

The Haig Nursery opened in January 1999. The nursery is part of the Haig Centre in Bulford, a military garrison near Salisbury in Wiltshire. It serves both military and civilian families from the local area.

The nursery consists of 4 playrooms, a kitchen and BLAST area. Children have access

to a sensory room and outside play areas. The setting is registered on the Early Years Register. There are currently 64 children on roll. The nursery is in receipt of funding for early education for children aged two, three and four years. The nursery supports children who speak English as an additional language as well as children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The nursery is open from 8am until 6pm on weekdays, all year round. There are 22 members of staff working with the children, 21 have relevant early years qualifications.

All settings registered with Ofsted are eligible to accept Nursery Education Grant funding. This is a universal benefit for every child from the term after its third birthday. Every child is entitled to up to 15 hours free early years education for up to 38 weeks of the year. Parents do not have to apply for this grant, the pre-school or nursery that your child is registered with will ensure that s/he receives their entitlement. This funding does not apply to the after school club.

    Two Year Olds Funding

Following reports emphasising the importance of early intervention, the Government introduced an initiative to fund places for vulnerable two year olds. This enabled those with an identified need to access up to 10 hours of free entitlement. TNB Early Years and Play strongly supports this initiative, with four settings currently able to accept children in the programme. Help and support in applying for Two Year Funding can be sought via the health visitor, or local children’s centre.

The Haig is committed to ensuring that all children with  SEND are given the same opportunities as everyone else. Click here to see Wiltshire Council's Local Offer
