Tidworth, Perham Down, Bulford & Larkhill
TNB Garrison Early Years and Play is a registered charity, which was formed in 2000 to bring together seven established childcare settings based in the garrison towns of Tidworth Perham Down, Bulford and Larkhill on Salisbury Plain.
It consists of:
Pre-schools – Caterpillas Under Fives, Perham Down Nursery, Larkhill Garrison Nursery and St Andrews and Jammie Dodgers – all of which open varying hours between 0800 and 1800 term-time only.
Nurseries – The Haig Day Nursery which opens 08:00 – 18:00 all year, Noah's Ark Under Fives which opens 08:00 – 17:30 Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 15:00 Friday for 44 weeks of the year and finally Paddington Play Station Day Nursery, open 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday for 47 weeks of the year.
After School and Holiday Club – St Andrews and Jammie Dodgers opens 1500 – 1745 during term-time and 08:30 – 17:30 during some Wiltshire holidays.
TNB Garrison Early Years and Play aims to provide quality care in a secure, happy environment where it can help children to fulfill their potential through play. It supports the childcare needs of all children, but
particularly those from serving backgrounds. Parents have the greatest influence on their children, and our Pre-schools and Nurseries support and extend that care so that children learn about themselves and their environment. It helps them develop skills and understanding which will prepare them for the next steps in their lives.
There are 362 childcare places for children aged 3 months to 12 years. Over 90% of the staff are qualified or studying, including six undertaking the Early Years Foundation Degree.
TNB welcomes all children from our local community regardless of ability, need, family background,
income or ethnicity. Should a waiting list need to be compiled, priority will be given to children from
serving families and those referred from the local authority.
FEES AND FUNDING
Nursery Education Funding
All settings registered with Ofsted are eligible to accept Nursery Education Grant funding. This is a universal benefit for every child from the term after its third birthday. Every child is entitled to up to 15 hours free early years education for up to 38 weeks of the year. Parents do not have to apply for this grant, the pre-school or nursery that your child is registered with will ensure that s/he receives their entitlement. This funding does not apply to the after school club.

Two Year Olds Funding
Following reports emphasising the importance of early intervention, the Government introduced an initiative to fund places for vulnerable two year olds. This enabled those with an identified need to access up to 10 hours of free entitlement. TNB Early Years and Play strongly supports this initiative, with four settings currently able to accept children in the programme. Help and support in applying for Two Year Funding can be sought via the health visitor, or local children’s centre.

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE
The Early Years Foundation Stage (Revised 2012) lays down statutory requirements to which all early years settings must adhere. The requirements set out legal guidelines for welfare, safeguarding, staffing
and qualifications, policies and procedures.
A key element of the EYFS (2012) is to work in partnership with parents. The Development Matters in the EYFS document supports practitioners in implementing the statutory requirements. Children develop quickly in the early years, and early years practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best start in life. Other guidance is available at www.foundationyears.org.uk. The EYFS statutory framework is also available, click here to view.
