Larkhill Garrison Nursery

Welcome to Larkhill Garrison Nursery. You can find us in the Community Centre next to the Medical Centre, on the ‘bottom patch in Larkhill. We welcome all children, from all walks of life and with all abilities. We cater for children aged from 12 months to school age. We have two play rooms: our Caterpillars are aged from 12 months to three years and our Butterflies are aged 3 years and above. We offer a flexible breakfast club and additional hour at the end of the day, outside of session times, for families who require it.

Our current management team took over two years ago. We have a Manager, Deputy, two Room Seniors and a Support Senior; we also have 17 members of staff. We are part of the TNB Early Years & Play group of settings and as a result, we pride ourselves on our ‘in house’ training and the support we receive from working closely with the wide range of settings that make up TNB.

We pride ourselves on our links with the local community. We work closely with the local primary schools, the Health Visiting team, we also offer support to our families and encourage them to be part of our nursery family.

We offer a wide range of activities for children of all abilities. We are a ‘free flow’ nursery, where children happily learn together and from each other.  We encourage the children to be independent but also to help and respect others. We provide opportunities to explore a wide range of experiences, these include; French lessons, Disco Dough, BLAST, science experiments, cookery sessions and music and movement,  in addition to activities that support development in all areas (as found in the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum). We have a large outdoor learning environment including a newly renovated (and very exciting!) garden, with mud kitchen, play house, stage, sand pit, storytelling area and vegetable patch and much more. We also have our Secret Garden, full of grasses and natural elements.

We have an open door policy and encourage children and families to come and visit us, without an appointment, to meet our team and learn about our ethos, what we do and how we do it.

We look forward to welcoming you into our Larkhill Garrison Nursery family.

  • FEES AND FUNDING

    Nursery Education Funding

All settings registered with Ofsted are eligible to accept Nursery Education Grant funding. This is a universal benefit for every child from the term after its third birthday. Every child is entitled to up to 15 hours free early years education for up to 38 weeks of the year. Parents do not have to apply for this grant, the pre-school or nursery that your child is registered with will ensure that s/he receives their entitlement. This funding does not apply to the after school club.

    Two Year Olds Funding

Following reports emphasising the importance of early intervention, the Government introduced an initiative to fund places for vulnerable two year olds. This enabled those with an identified need to access up to 10 hours of free entitlement. TNB Early Years and Play strongly supports this initiative, with four settings currently able to accept children in the programme. Help and support in applying for Two Year Funding can be sought via the health visitor, or local children’s centre.
