EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage (Revised 2017) lays down statutory requirements to which all early years settings must adhere. The requirements set out legal guidelines for welfare, safeguarding, staffing and qualifications, policies and procedures.
A key element of the EYFS (2017) is to work in partnership with parents. The Development Matters in the EYFS document supports practitioners in implementing the statutory requirements. Children develop quickly in the early years, and early years practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best start in life. Other guidance is available at www.foundationyears.org.uk. The EYFS statutory framework is also available.
